Contents
A temple of the Tendai sect. Founded in 984 by Kaisan Shonin with an Amitabha Buddha statue from Enryakuji Temple as its principal image. After the Onin War (1467-1477) the temple was moved from time to time until it reached its present site in 1693. Six Sutra scrolls (National Treasures) are revered as the work of the Buddhist artist Unkei. A majestic three-storied pagoda graces the temple grounds. <br>http://www.interq.or.jp/sun/junsho/
